
The Legendary Afro-Beat; jazz ; traditional melodies Singer Miriam Makeba died November 9th in Italy from a heart attack. Zenzile Miriam Makeba collapsed on stage, at the end of her set, after singing Pata Pata. She was 76. She was one hott mama singer, she was even known as Mama Afrika. Orignally from South Africa, she has been singing for the masses all over the world and for great leaders like Nelson Mandela. She has been in the game since 1954 and her music will play forevermore. She is distinctive because of her passion for music, despite the obstacles she dealt with, with the political plight of black South Africans under apartheid.
